Mrs. Wilma F. Armstrong, 94, of Carthage, IL, formerly of Fort Madison, IA and Niota, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 2:45 AM at her daughter, Judys home, in Burnside, IL.

She was born April 4, 1918 in Mexico, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Lu Eubanks Whittaker. On September 4, 1937 she married Robert F. Armstrong in Mexico, MO. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1988.

She was a member of the VFW in Carthage and the Moose Lodge in Fort Madison. She enjoyed Gardening, sewing and playing cards.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Peggy Chaney of Marion, IA, Judy Carter of Burnside and LaJeaneen Atwell of Carthage, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Appanoose Cemetery near Niota, IL with Pastor Bill Deisher officiating. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is in charge of arrangements.
