Dorothy L. Williams

Mrs. Dorothy L. Williams, 89, formerly of Disco, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 10:50 P.M. at the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born August 18, 1918 in Henderson County, Illinois, the daughter of Abraham and Cora Shick Magee. On June 6, 1940 she married John N. Williams in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1992.

She was reared and educated in Stronghurst, Illinois. She was a member of the former Disco United Methodist Church and attended the Hope Wesleyan Church since moving to Galesburg in 1990.

She is survived by one son Jerry (Pamela) Williams of Galesburg, one daughter, Phyllis (Larry) Johnson of Henderson, Illinois, one brother, Jerry McGee of Portland, Oregon, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Crane Cemetery near Lomax, Illinois with Pastor Brian Sexton and her grandson, Pastor John Johnson officiating. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, Illinois where the family will meet with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday. A memorial fund has been established.
