William Frank Stevenson, age 90, of Gladstone, Illinois passed away at 10:45 p.m. Sunday December 12, 2010. He was on Hospice Care at the Klein Center in Burlington, Iowa. He was born December 30, 1919 in Gladstone, IL., the son of Samuel and Pearle Johnson Stevenson. On August 1, 1933, he married Betty Jean Adams in Kahoka, MO.

Bill graduated from Gladstone High School in 1933. He farmed near Carman and following a flood in 1965, he and his wife moved to a new home near Gladstone. After the death of his father, Sam Stevenson, Bill was appointed to serve on the Drainage District by the Henderson County Board. He enjoyed yard work, his beautiful flowers, and his cat, Fluff. He also enjoyed traveling to the Rocky Mountains, Glacier National Park, and along the California coast. Bill was baptized in the Old Bedford Church (Disciples Of Christ).

Survivors include his wife, one daughter - Susan Amelia Guanci, and her husband John, of Woodstock, IL., one grandson - John Joseph William Guanci III, two great granddaughters- Amelia Ann and Kaitlyn, one sister - Phyllis Saben, and her husband Lee, of Biggsville, IL., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends on Friday December 12, 2010 from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral for Mr. Stevenson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 18, 2010 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Henderson County Health Department.
