W. Wayne Link, 86, of LaHarpe, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, IA.

Mr. Link was born June 16, 1932 in LaHarpe the son of Lewis and Eva Laybourne Link. On March 18, 1956 he married M. Louise Russell in Terre Haute, IL. She survives.

Wayne was a 1950 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Link farmed all of his life near LaHarpe. He was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church, LaHarpe American Legion and the Farm Bureau. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, two sons, Sheldon Link and Scott Link both of LaHarpe, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Wendell (Eleanor) Link of LaHarpe and one sister, Jean Louden of LaHarpe.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Link, four sisters, Louella Bowen, Louise Boren, Dorothy Kern and Leah Belle Hicks.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Nate McCarter officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 Saturday at Banks & Beals. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe American Legion.
