Virginia Mae Granneman Vought
Virginia Mae Granneman Vought, 74 of Niota, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at her home.
She was born May 21, 1934 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Elva Thill Cloyd. She was married to Charles E. Granneman. He preceded her in death in 1972.
She was raised in Ottumwa and graduated from the Ottumwa High School. She worked for the Hancock County Home Health Care and for 10 years was the food service coordinator for the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, Iowa. She retired in 1998. She enjoyed watching TV, crocheting, reading and family.
Surviving are one daughter, Therese Seigfried of Niota, one son Larry Granneman of Niota, two grandsons, two step-grandsons, two great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Kay Garner and Dori Celania both of Denton, Texas, one brother, LeRoy Cloyd of Ottumwa, one sister-in-law, Jeanine Cloyd of Ottumwa and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were one son, Kenneth Granneman, one sister, two brothers and her parents.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date at Carman Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
