Mrs. Vernalee B. Winters, 88, of Blandinsville, IL formerly of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 11:02 P.M. Friday, January 4, 2013 at her daughter, Kathys home.

Vernalee was born September 3, 1924 near Blandinsville the daughter of Mervin Payne and Minnie Hardisty Henry. On August 31, 1945 she married M. Allen Winters in Macomb. He died June 29, 1981.

Mrs. Winters worked at the IAAP, cooked at local restaurants and worked for the LaHarpe School District. She enjoyed square dancing and visiting with friends over a cup of coffee. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include, 1 son, Stan Winters of Rockford, IL, 1 daughter, Kathy (Bill) Akers of Blandinsville, IL, 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 4 brothers.

There will be no services.
