Don E. Truelove

Mr. Don E. Truelove, 77, of Blandinsville, IL passed away at 5:00 AM Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois.

He was born on May 12, 1934 in Victoria, IL, the son of Merlin and Fleta Waggoner Truelove. On November 14, 1959 he married Deanna Breiner in the Old Bedford Church parsonage, near Blandinsville.

Don was a graduate of ROVA High School in Onieda, IL. Following high school he served in the US Army. After his discharge, he worked at Admiral in Galesburg and later the Knox County Highway Department. He then farmed for many years near Victoria and most recently near Blandinsville. He had served on the Blandinsville Township Board for several years.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Carrie (Martin) Truelove-Hernandez of Kingman, AZ, one son, Brian (Scott Mozingo) Truelove of Peoria, IL, 2 grandchildren, Brenna and Sean Hernandez, one brother, Dean Truelove of Victoria and two sisters, Norma Larson of Knoxville, IL and Janice Hickey of Abingdon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, including sisters, Corrina Hill and Juanita Gore and brother, Ivan Truelove.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Lee Unger. Military Rites will be conducted by the LaHarpe American Legion Post 301. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Blandinsville Rescue Squad, the McDonough County Animal Shelter or the Charity of the Donors Choice.
