Tim Nixon, 61, of Dallas City, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the home of his friend, Kim Hurst, in Fruitland Park, Florida.

He was born July 8, 1964 in LaHarpe, Illinois the son of James Rae and Phyllis Whittemore Nixon.

Tim was a graduate of the Dallas City High School and received his BA Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He worked in construction as a carpenter. He was a member of the former Dallas City Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by one brother, James (Randy) Nixon of Dallas City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Diana Lyn May.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Harris Cemetery with Rev. Jim Luder officiating.

A memorial fund has been established for the Department of Psychiatry in Iowa City.
