Thomas James Edmonds

Thomas James Edmonds, 70, of rural Lomax, Illinois died August 1 at 11:35 p.m. at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. He was born May 1, 1946 in Monmouth, Illinois the only child of Frank J. and Mildred Clidean Simpson Edmonds He married Lucy Heater June 15, 1985. They later divorced.

Thomas graduated from Stronghurst High School and the University of Illinois School of Aviation. He was employed by TWA as a jet airplane mechanic at OHare Airport in Chicago and Los Angeles International Airport. He returned to Henderson County to help with the family farms in Carman and Terre Haute townships. He was the owner of REC Recycling in Stronghurst for many years.

Thomas was a member of the Stronghurst United Methodist Church. He recently attended River of Life Church in Dallas City. He served as a director of Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab/Oak Wood Retirement Village and on the Terre Haute Township board.

Survivors include first cousins Kay Randazzo, Rockton, Illinois and Fauneil Keller, Trail City, South Dakota and several second cousins including Jane (Jim) Miller, Stronghurst, and Fran (David) Work, Gladstone. He was preceded by parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be made to Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab or the Stronghurst Ambulance Service in care of Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O. Box 299, Stronghurst, IL 61480.

There will be no visitation or funeral services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Carman Cemetery. Banks & Beals Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
