Obituary

Ted William Rodeffer, 58, of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.

Ted was born July 4, 1963 in LaHarpe the son of Dickey Ray and Deloris Irene (Kaler) Rodeffer. On February 22, 1991 he married Angela Grisham in Blandinsville, Illinois. She survives.

Ted was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. He worked for several years in railroad construction and was employed by West Central FS, Inc. for the past 17 years.

Ted loved sports and enjoyed coaching his children's & grandchildren's teams. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Lakers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was waiting for the year of the perfect trifecta, a Super Bowl win, an NBA Championship, and a World Series victory for his beloved teams. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, shooting pool, working on the farm and tending to his cattle. He was quick with jokes and would go out of his way to help family and friends. He was a strong headed, strong willed and strong hearted man.

Survivors include his wife: Angela; his mother: Deloris; three children: Tanieka Rodeffer (James Spence) of Birmingham, Alabama, LaShay (Josh) Ramirez of LaHarpe and Rodney Rodeffer of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Bryar Rodeffer, Journee, Jourdee, Jameeya and Jameson Spence; one sister: Jackie (Jeff) Rodeffer-Scheetz of Belton, Missouri, a special cousin Bryan (Lauren) Rodeffer of Fort Madison, IA and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and two cousins: Randy (Kraz) Rodeffer and Carla Rodeffer.

A visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the LaHarpe Christian Church.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home following the service.

A memorial fund has been established for unexpected medical expenses and the LaHarpe Ambulance.
