Darlene L. Stimpson

Darlene L. Stimpson, age 70 of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday December 12, 2010 in the Danville Care Center in Danville, Iowa. She was born November 5, 1940 in Olds, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert and Cecil Sammons Milks. She was married to Delbert Moeller. They later divorced. On June 27, 2008, she married Wayne Stimpson in Burlington.

Darlene was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She had worked as a sales clerk for several area businesses. She had also been employed as a salesperson for Ambassador Gold Jewelry Company for several years, and later worked for the Iowa State Gaming and Licensing Commission. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Women Of The Moose lodges in Burlington.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne, her mother of Mount Pleasant, IA., three sons - Shaun (Terry) Moeller and Dan Moeller, both of Burlington, Joe Moeller of Virginia, two step daughters - Josephine Hampton and Patricia Barnowski, both of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, four brothers- Ron (Lynn) Milks of Panora, IA., Larry ( Kay) Milks and Roger (Patty) Milks, both Mount Pleasant, IA., Kent (Darla) Milks of Quincy, IL., and one sister - Linda Knoop of Mount Pleasant, IA. She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Stimpson will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Banks & Beals with Rev. Kendall Hetrick officiaitng. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, IL. A memorial fund has been established for The United Way.
