Steven Lynn Rusher, age 56, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home. He was born January 2, 1967 in Carthage, Illinois, the son of Kenneth Dean and Leota Mae (Sutton) Rusher.

Steve was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during his service. He lived in Bowling Green, Missouri for many years where he worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He loved hunting and fishing, and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins.
Survivors include three sons: Sean Rusher, Ryan Bennett, and Joseph Potter, his mother: Leota Rusher of Lomax, IL, five grandchildren, one sister: Tina (Stan) Carley of Galesburg, IL, and one brother: Jeff (Sharon) Rusher of Macomb, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, one son: Brady Bennett, one brother: Kenneth Rusher Jr, and two sisters: Barb Floyd and Vicky Rusher.

The funeral service for Mr. Rusher will be 2:00 p.m. Monday March 27, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, IL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial, with military rites will be in the Crane Cemetery, near Lomax, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established for his mother.
