Stephen A. Doran, age 60 of Carman, Illinois died at 6:44 a.m. Friday March 25, 2011 in the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born July 25, 1950 in Burlington, Iowa the son of Robert K. and Jean E. Milligan Doran.

Stephen served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked for the John Deere company in the Quad Cities for several years. He assisted his father in the family farming operation, and also was an Amway distributor for many years. For many years, he operated a satellite dish business in west central Illinois.

Survivors include one daughter - Alyssa Doran of Livingston, Montana, a special friend- Vonda Stiller of Livingston, Montana, two brothers- Robert (Virginia) Doran of Bettendorf, Iowa, Tom (Diana) Doran of Carman, Illinois, one sister - Diana (Greg) Isaacson of Carman, and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 31, 2011 in the Carman United Methodist Church with Rev. Kendall Hetrick officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Carman Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
