Stella Marie Tillotson, 91, of Macomb, Illinois formerly of LaHarpe , Illinois passed away at 10:36 PM Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Wesley Village in Macomb.

She was born on November 16, 1919 near Blandinsville, Illinois, the daughter of Levi E. and Lennna Cotton Foster. On November 21, 1953 she married Converse Conny Tillotson. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1957.

Stella graduated as Salutatorian from Dallas City High School in 1936 and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois for 1 year. She worked 32 years for the Department of Army in Rock Island and St. Louis, retiring to LaHarpe in 1973. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, AARP, LaHarpe Christian Church and a former member of the LaHarpe Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Dorothy Tillotson Denkhoff of Moline, Illinois, 7 nieces, 8 nephews and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, Cecil, Gilman, Lloyd and Floyd Foster and 2 sisters, Leona Foster and Florence Robinson.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 15, 2011 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Bruce Western officiating. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church or the LaHarpe Senior Center.
