Stanley Allen Winters, age 67, of Rockford, Illinois, formerly of LaHarpe, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 from injuries received in a house fire at his home. He was born September 13, 1953 in LaHarpe, the son of M. Allen and Vernalee Henry Winters.

Stanley was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978. He was a heating and cooling technician for several years, living in Colchester, Springfield, and for the past several years, in Rockford. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

Survivors include two daughters; Stacy (Kyle) Waller of Blandinsville, IL, April Detmer of Colchester, IL, one son; Merle Winters of Plymouth, IL, five grandchildren; Angela Link, Michael Link, Austin (Trace) Davis, Timmy Detmer and Valerie Detmer, four great grandchildren, one sister; Kathy (Bill) Akers of Blandinsville and two nephews, Justin and Bill Akers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service, with military rites, will be held at a later date in the LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to help the family with final expenses.
