SHIRLEY B. RUSTY PALMER

Mrs. Shirley B. Rusty Palmer, 91, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 6:55 PM Friday, December 18, 2015 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born October 28, 1924 in Santa Ana, CA, the daughter of Perry Johnson and Hulda Burbank Compton. On May 18, 1956 she married Harley Palmer in Long Beach, CA.

Mrs. Palmer enjoyed listening to country music and crocheting. Earlier in life, she and her husband belonged to 2 square dance clubs; the Dots and Dashes and the Flying Red Horses. She was a member of the Four Square Church in Long Beach, CA.

Surviving are her husband, 2 daughters, Darlene Smith of Las Vegas, NV and Cindy Palmer of LaHarpe, 2 sons, Raymond (Cindy) Robbins of Lake Havasu, AZ and Mike (Tina) Hardman of South Daytona Beach, FL, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 sister and 1 brother.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will be in the Terre Haute, IL Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday. A memorial fund has been established for the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
