Shirley Mae Bross, 83 quietly passed away on January 28th, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Mesa AZ. She was born October 10, 1934 in Palmyra, IL, the daughter of Ray and Irma (Butcher) Bivin. She graduated from Palmyra High school in 1952. Shirley married Howard Bross a farmer of Dallas City. She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition plant before graduating from Carl Sandburg College receiving her LPN degree in nursing. She enjoyed many years working as a nurse before retiring in Mesa, Arizona. She is survived by her sister Norma Dean Young, four children, Jim Bross of Dallas City, Il. Kathy (Wayne) Thomas, David Bross of Phoenix, AZ and Lorie Bross of Avondale, AZ and her three grand children, Krystle Thomas, Ashleigh Thomas and Jordan Thomas of Auckland, New Zealand. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Darrell Ray Bivin. Services will be at a later date.
