Joan Sherwood, 57, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was born on August 10, 1954 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Fred and Wanda May Bundy Cameron. On February 27, 1980 she married Louis Sherwood.

Joan worked as a nurses aid at the nursing home in LaHarpe and at Montebello Nursing Home in Hamilton, Illinois. She also cared for elderly people in their homes.

She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Japheth Sherwood of Keokuk, Iowa and Andrew Sherwood of Bushnell, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, Dalton Melvin, Autumn Sherwood and Ethan Sherwood, 1 sister, Candy Carle of Carthage, 1 brother, Edward Torrence of LaHarpe and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and 1 son Frederick Sherwood.

No services are planned at this time. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements.
