Obituary

Sherri DeeAnn McKee, 59, of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at her home.
Sherri was born on January 21, 1962 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Butcher) Rittenhouse. On September 30, 1988 she married Marte McKee in Carthage, Illinois.
She previously worked at Key Agriculture in Macomb and for the past eighteen years worked in Outpatient Care and Supply Purchasing at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Sherri looked forward to going to work.  She enjoyed going to Basco for chicken with her co-workers and especially enjoyed time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Marte; three children: Claire (Broc) Finch of LaHarpe, Dade McKee and Carson (Elizabeth Schaller) McKee all of Carthage; five grandchildren: Laine, Lucas, Henry and Theodore Finch and Tessa McKee. Also surviving are siblings: Scott Rittenhouse of LaHarpe, Lance (Steffanie) Rittenhouse of Brunswick, Georgia and Kerry (Carmen) Foxall of rural Colchester.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother: Karen Liggett and one sister: Wendy Gilbert.
A Celebration of Sherri's life will be held at a later date. Private burial will held in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the HUGs of Hancock County. Contributions may be mailed to the Sherri McKee Memorial Fund, c/o Banks & Beals Funeral Home, LaHarpe, Illinois 61450.
