Sheila K. McCord, 73, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025 at the Goldwater Care Center in Roseville, Illinois.

Sheila was born January 20, 1952 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of George and Bettie (Wren) Murphy. On June 2, 2001 she married Jack McCord in Mexico, Missouri. He preceded her in death February 6, 2018.

Sheila sold cars in the Columbia, Missouri, area for 20 years. Later, she did medical transcription for the Columbia and Hannibal, Missouri, hospitals for 25 years. She was a long time member of Elks Lodge in Mexico and Hannibal, Missouri. She was an amazing cook, loved dancing, and her candy, especially peach rings and Caramellos. She enjoyed golfing, playing bingo, making quilts, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers fan.

Survivors include two children: Amy (Chris) Van Fleet of LaHarpe and Chris (Lindsey) Dietz of Rapid City, South Dakota, nine grandchildren: Brady, Lizzie, Malena, Marisal, Tristan, Lane, Cameron, Hayden and Lincoln and one brother: Tom Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Rick Murphy and Charla Murphy.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Homes.
