Carol M. Sheffler

Mrs. Carol M. Sheffler, 76, of LaHarpe, IL passed away 7:21AM Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

Carol was born the daughter of Harley and Fern Brunk Jones in LaHarpe on August 12, 1936. On October 2, 1954 she married Kenneth Bud Sheffler in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2012.

Mrs. Sheffler was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. Earlier in life, she worked at Hobbys Newsstand in LaHarpe. Later, she worked at Gene & Bevs Grocery Store and R&D Grocery store in LaHarpe. She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

Survivors include, 1 son, Kenny (Nancy) Sheffler of Phoenix, AZ, 1 daughter, Cindy (Jim) Oliver of Danville, IA, 3 grandchildren, Bryant (Ritamarie) Little of Burbank, CA, Jessie (Jessica) Little of Hamilton, IL, Blaire (Will) Burke of Burlington, IA, 3 step-grandsons, James, Don and Dustin Oliver, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Louise White of LaHarpe and 1 brother, Harley (Nancy) Jones of Davis City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 sisters, Pauline Jones, Pearl Duncan, Sybil Sloop, Betty Roderick and Ruthie Peterson, 4 brothers, Darol, Harold, Tom and Bobby Jones.

Services will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Larry Hobby officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM. A memorial fund has been established.
