Shawn Michael Kane, 54, of LaHarpe, Illinois, formerly of Fishers, Indiana and Austin, Texas, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 and is now in peace with God.

Shawn was born May 30, 1968 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of father, Larry L., who preceded him in death, and mother Mary Ann (Cassell) Kane. On September 16, 2003 he married Nicole Coburn in Captiva Island, Florida.

Shawn was a 1986 Eagle Scout and graduate of LaHarpe High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1991 from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Shawn spent a majority of his adulthood working as a Realtor in the Fishers, Indiana and Austin, Texas areas. He recently returned to his hometown of LaHarpe and took an active role within the community. He enjoyed being back on the family farm. He also enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to Captiva Island. He had a fun and energetic spirit and was a man of strong faith.

Survivors include his wife: Nicole; two daughters: Jade Fenner and Jazmyn Kane of Indiana; his mother: Mary Ann Kane; one brother: Gregory Kane of Woodridge, Illinois; one sister: Jennifer Junker of Warrenton, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The family requests that visitors join them in wearing colorful attire to celebrate Shawn's vibrant life and love.

Cremation will be entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home following the visitation.
