Sharon L. "Speed" Dowell, age 76, of Foley Alabama, passed away August 15, 2021. He was born January 13th, 1945, to Gean and Madeline (Stamp) Dowell, in La Harpe, Ill. A former resident of Stronghurst, he graduated class of 1963. He enlisted in the Air Force and served his country from 1965 until 1969. He attended and graduated from WIU in 1974.

He married Lynnea June 28th, 1980, she survives, along with daughters Tanner-Gean Dowell and Jenna (Jason) Weber, and grand children Korbin, Avery, and Audrey Weber. He is also survived by one brother Loren (Reva) Dowell of Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, with Lisa Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery.
