Sean Daniel Chaney, 52, of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Sean was born September 20, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, the son of William E. and Patricia Ann (Wyatt) Chaney. On December 26, 1992 he married Dawn Ann Chaney at the Lomax Nazarene Church, Lomax, Illinois.

Sean was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. He worked as a fabricator for Yetter Farm Equipment in Colchester. Sean was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed, hunting, mushrooming, and especially fishing.

Survivors include two sons: Nick and Austin Chaney both of LaHarpe; one daughter: Katie Chaney of Keokuk, Iowa; his mother: Patty Chaney of Florida; three grandchildren: Calliope, Louis and Lyanna Thompson; two brothers: Robert and James Chaney; one sister: Rebecca Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A time of remembrance for both Sean and Dawn will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
