Margaret Schenck, 86, of Macomb, IL passed away at 11:17AM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb.

She was born July 11, 1926 in Raritan, IL the daughter of Cornelius and Myrtle Hare Schenck.

Margaret worked at McDonough District Hospital in the purchase department for over 25 years. She was a member of the Macomb American Legion Auxiliary, The Professional Business Womens Club and the Maple Avenue Christian Church. Following her retirement she volunteered at the Senior Center delivering Meals On Wheels.

She is survived by 1 nephew, Edward C. Schenck of White Hall, IL, 3 nieces, Carol E. Bradford of Pueblo, CO, Carolyn Childs of Norfolk, CT and Marilyn Warren of Baltimore, MD, 1 great-niece Christine Gennetta of Pueblo, CO, 7 great-nephews, Rick Driskell of Macomb, William M. Bradford of Pueblo, CO, Joe Driskell Jr. of Baltimore, MD, David Schenck of White Hall, IL, James Bradford of Pueblo, CO, Joe Schenck of West Hollywood, CA and Ricky Childs of Norfolk, CT.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Charles, Edward J. and Harold Schenck and her friend Trella Brewer.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb with Donnie Case officiating. Burial will be in the Raritan Cemetery, Raritan, IL. Family will meet with friends at the church Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time of services. A memorial fund has been establish for the Maple Avenue Christian Church or the Macomb American Legion Auxiliary. Banks & Beals Funeral Home, LaHarpe, IL is in charge of arrangements.
