Mr. Ryan S. Marsden, 39 of Dallas City, IL passed away at 3:29 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Ryan was born on October 3, 1976 in Burlington, IA, the son of Kirby and Theresa Harrison Marsden. He married Jessica Polhans, together they had a son, Riley. Later, he and his significant other, Karri Brewer Wallace, had a son, Bryce.
Mr. Marsden was a 1994 graduate of the Dallas City High School. He worked alongside his father as the Assistant Manager for their family business, Quality Fisheries in Niota. He was certified by the FDA to develop and implement Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems for Quality Fisheries. Ryan developed many recipes for the smoking operations at Quality Fisheries. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Kirby and Theresa Marsden of Burlington, two sons Riley Marsden of Missoula, MT and Bryce Marsden of LaHarpe, two sisters, Dana (Mark) Buster of Parker, CO and Kari Marsden of Burlington, niece, Kinsey Buster, two nephews, Kaden Tilley and Corban Cox, grandparents, Charlie and Dee Harrison of Dallas City and Rayma (the late Donald) Rea of Dallas City and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Marsden.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, IL. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, IL. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home from noon until time of services. A memorial fund has been established for his sons' education.
