Ruth JoAnn Logan, 73, of Lomax, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, went home to be with the Lord at 7:15 p.m. September 22, 2014 at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, IA.

Ruthy was born April 12, 1941 in New London, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Vera Morrow Cornwell. She graduated from Burlington High School, Burlington, Iowa in 1959. On August 12, 1962, she married Ronald E. Logan at the Lomax Christian Church in Lomax, IL.

Ronnie and Ruthy have been members of the Lomax Christian Church for the entire 52 years of their married life. Ruthy loved her family above all, spending as much time with her children and grandchildren as time would allow, and relished her holidays with her family, especially Christmas mornings which have always taken place at Grandmas house. She was a member of the Glitzy Gals Red Hat Society. Ruthy loved gardening and her flowers, feeding the neighborhood birds, flea markets, toy collecting, cooking for her family, fishing, and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also spent a lifetime loving to vacation and travel with her family, and for the last several years has enjoyed snowbirding through the winter months with Ronnie at her sister Kays home in Alabama.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie; two sons, Tim (Terry) Logan of Moline, IL, and Ted (Trish) Logan of Bloomington, IL.; one brother Dale (Sue) Cornwell, Lomax, IL; one sister Charlotte Kay Evans, Pelham, AL; and her six grandchildren - Madison, Makenzie, Mariah, and Tanner Logan of Moline, IL, and Abby and Drew Logan of Bloomington, IL; her beloved pet Gracie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill, and one sister, Garnet.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Lomax Christian Church in Lomax, with Rev. Tim Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Crane Cemetery, near Lomax. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Lomax Christian Church.
