Mrs. Ruby Maxine Glisan, 75, of Dallas City, IL passed away 4:49PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at her home.

She was born on July 4, 1937 in Macomb, IL the daughter of Carl and Carrie McClain Hill. In May of 1957 she married William Glisan in Dallas City. They later divorced.

Ruby was a 1956 graduate of Dallas City High School. She worked for 8 years at Dadants. She then worked at Methode for 15 years before retiring in 2002. Ruby loved to read, was an Elvis Presley fan, liked watching baseball, especially the Cardinals, was strong in her faith and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by 3 sons, Larry and Jim Glisan both of Dallas City and Ronnie Glisan of Algona, IA, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Junior Hill of Davenport, IA, John Whitford of Hamilton, IL, Robert Whitford of Colchester, IL and Larry Whitford of Plymouth, IL, 3 sisters, Patricia Rash of Plymouth, IL, Jackie Clark of Mountain Home, AR and Carolyn of Lakeland, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and several aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM Monday, April 29, 2013 at Harris Cemetery near Dallas City with Rev Jim Luder officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Lee County Hospice. No visitation is planned. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is in charge of arrangements.
