Roy S. Drevland, age 87 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 10:40 P.M. Thursday November 3, 2011 in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. He was born September 24, 1924 in Angora, Minnesota, the son of Roy R. and Lucy Holbrook Drevland. On December 20, 1947, he married M. Elizabeth Browning in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Mr. Drevland was an army veteran of World War II. He had worked for many years as an inspector for the Atomic Energy Commission throughout the United States. He was a Past Master of the New London Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Stronghurst American Legion and the Bethel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters- Kathleen (Jim) Joy of Belton, MO., Karen (Craig) Colby of Stronghurst, Kaye (Karl) Dollmann of Olathe, KS., six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two sisters- Viola LeBerge of Los Alamos, NM., and Alice Hallowell of Hibbing, MN. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one brother, and two sisters.

No Visitation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 12, 2011 in the Bethel Lutheran Church of Stronghurst with Pastor Terry Muller officiating. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been established for Bethel Lutheran Church, Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab, or Hospice Compassus of Galesburg, IL.
