Rowena Edith Lozar

, 86 of Stronghurst, Illinois, formerly of Sussex, New Jersey, died at 1:58 p.m. Thursday July 3, 2014 at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born August 7, 1927 in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Leroy and Hilah Whitney Arthur. On September 8, 1946, she married Frank Lozar. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lozar was a graduate of Sussex High School in Sussex, NJ. She had worked as a secretary for a Ford automobile dealership, a bank, and for Vernon High School in Vernon, NJ. She moved to Stronghurst in 2011. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and camping.

Survivors include one son, Stephen (Dianne) Lozar of rural LaHarpe, IL, one duaghter, Joanne (Brian) Foley of California, two step grandchildren, one sister, Arline Pegg of Totwa, NJ, one brother in law, Don Neirotti of Pennsylvania, one sister in law, Catherine Arthur of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Janet Lozar, one brother, Donald Arthur, and two sisters, Shirley Arthur and Geraldine Neirotti.

No local visitation or service is planned. Burial will be in Clove Cemetery in Sussex, New Jersey. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements.
