W. Rosena "Whitie" Hubbard

Mrs. W. Rosena Whitie Hubbard, 87, of Carthage, IL passed away at 7:25AM Monday, July 1, 2013 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe.

Mrs Hubbard was born August 29, 1925near Lomax, IL the daughter of Ursal and Wilma Markey Pence. On June 19, 1946 she married Keith Skeeter Hubbard in Dallas City, IL. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2008.

She was a 1943 Dallas City High School Graduate. Earlier in life she worked at Sheaffer Pen Co. In Fort Madison and Younkers in Burlington. She and her husband lived many years in the Colusa, IL area and later moved to Carthage. She was a member of the Colusa United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board, taught Sunday School and belonged to the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Senior Citizens in Carthage. She loved to play cards.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Joyce Hubbard of Springfield, IL and Jane (Tony) Allen of Kewanee, IL, 2 grandsons, Sean and Chris Allen, 1 sister, Leta Mae (Ernest) Evermon, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and close family friends Kelly Behle and Jennifer and Keaton Behle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters, Idalene Shirey and Doris Jean Scanlan.

Services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Tony Allen and David Poland officiating. Burial will be held at Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call after 3:00PM Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Blessing Hospice of Hancock County, Colusa United Methodist Church or the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
