Rosemary Elaine Squier, 70 of La Harpe, IL passed away at 11:37 P.M. Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She was born on May 13, 1943 in Carthage, the daughter of William Bill and Anna Berg Cox. On September 24, 1973 she married Jerry Squier in Carthage.

Mrs. Squier was a graduate of Carthage High School. She worked as a cook at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage and also at the Lake Inn Bar and Restaurant of Carthage in the 1970's. Rosemary enjoyed children and operated a licensed daycare. In the 1980's, she and her husband purchased Squiers Auto Salvage in Fountain Green, IL., where she worked as a bookkeeper. Later in life, Rosemary worked at the La Harpe Davier Health Care Center and as a morning cook at Caseys General Store, both in La Harpe. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Deborah (Kirk) Whittenburg, of Peoria, IL, Melissa Squier of LaHarpe, three sons, Michael McMillen of Morton, IL, Art (Jana) Squier of Fountain Green, IL and Jerry (Julie) Squier Jr. of Good Hope, IL, eleven grandchildren and five brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Tyler Kiley, four sisters, Dora Coyle, Norma Stephenson, Dorothy Shrubb, Marilyn Sansom and one niece, Crissie Cox.

There will be a gathering of friends and family from 2:00 until 5:00PM Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Annex in LaHarpe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is in charge of arrangements.
