Rodney L. Starbuck, 73, of Blandinsville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

He was born October 23, 1950 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Martin and Isabel Petty Starbuck. On September 2, 1972 he married Cynthia Jean Komer in Orion, Illinois. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2019.

Rod lived in Blandinsville all of his life and was a graduate of the Northwestern High School. He served his country in the US Navy. Rod was a member of the Blandinsville American Legion and the Macomb VFW.  He worked for United Feed for 32 years.  Rod was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed watching game shows, westerns and FOX  News. He especially enjoyed time spent with his sons and granchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Bryan (Monique) Starbuck of Sauk Village, Illinois and Marcus (Jessica) Starbuck of Macomb, Illinois, three grandchildren, Elijah, Cooper and Autumn Starbuck and one sister, Karen Hendricks of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers, Rick and Tom Starbuck.

Friends may call after 2:00p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 7:00p.m. Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023  at Banks & Beals Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. Burial, with Military Rites,  will follow in the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. A memorial fund has been established for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Macomb VFW.
