Mr. Robert E. Wilcox, 67, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 9:45 A.M. at his home.

He was born March 22, 1942 in Dallas City, the son of Charles and Nellie Winkler Wilcox. On February 3, 1995 he married Pamela Fry in Carthage, Illinois. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2008.

Mr. Wilcox was a lifelong resident of Dallas City. He worked for Cessford Construction at the rock quarry in Dallas City for over 20 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting coins.

Surviving are one daughter, Jo Ann (Keith) Belau of Rush City, Minnesota, one son, Robert (Andrea) Wilcox Jr. of Troy, Illinois, one step-son, Noel Fry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, four grandchildren, Zachary Wilcox, Marissa, Keanna and Logan Belau, two sisters, Mary Ellen Graber of Niota, Illinois and Pauline Lant of Stronghurst, Illinois and one brother, Phillip Wilcox of Mediapolis, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two sisters, Vera Martin and Donna Newman.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until8:00 P.M. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established for the Blessing Hospice of Hancock County.
