Robert R. "Bud" Painter

Mr. Robert R. Bud Painter, 74, of Terre Haute, Illinois passed away at 11:45 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born on July 14, 1942 in LaHarpe, Illinois, Bud was the son of Lowell and Lois Manifold Painter. On March 17, 1973 he married Jennifer Bruyn in the Terre Haute United Methodist Church. She survives.

Bud was a 1960 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He farmed all his life in the Terre Haute area. He was a volunteer fireman for the Terre Haute Fire Department for many years. Bud was a member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church where he had also served as Trustee. He was an avid bowler and had achieved a perfect 300 game. He served as a softball coach for the summer league for many years.

Besides his wife, Bud is survived by three daughters: Michelle (Dan) Oilar of Kahoka, MO, Dawn (Chane ) Combites of Terre Haute, and Jena (David) Oilar of Kahoka, MO; five grandchildren and his twin sister: Roberta (Dick) Blackhurst of Farmington, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Matthew Oilar and sister: Louise Rash.

A memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call anytime after 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
