Robert E.Lung

, 82, of Colusa, Illinois passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at his home.

He was born July 2, 1928 near Dallas City, IL, the son of Victor and Garnet (Anderson) Lung. On September 15, 1949, he married Lillian D. Vass in Colusa, IL.

He graduated from Colusa High School in 1947. Over his life time he worked at Du Ponte in Fort Madison, FS in Warsaw, Moormans in Quincy and Vigertone. After Bob and Lil retired, they delivered papers for the Hawk Eye and the Democrat for over twenty years. Bob was scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 99 for over ten years earning the Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver award, the highest honor given to Scout Leaders. Bob loved to work with wood and carved logs with a chain saw. He belonged to the Burnside Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lil, of Colusa , three sons, Gary (Debbie) Lung of St. Charles, Mo., Rick (Linda) Lung of Quincy, IL., Steve (Janet) Lung of Colusa, one daughter, Dixie (John) Mowell of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Fred Lung of Dallas City and Richard Lung of Lawrence, Indiana.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Burnside Christian Church with Mark Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Byler Cemetery near Colusa. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Burnside Christian Church, and the Cancer Fund.
