Robert W. Lauver, 95 of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Stronghurst, IL died at 5:51 p.m. Sunday November 3, 2013 in the John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix. He was born October 27, 1918 near Monmouth, IL, the son of O.W. and Martha Mckeown Lauver. On March 3, 1939, he married Alice Lucille Houtchens in Wapello, IA. She preceded him in death on May 27, 1992. On December 30, 1993, he married Helen Rochotte in Roseville, IL. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2005.

Mr. Lauver was a maintenance engineer for Stronghurst, and later Southern School District for twenty five years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed supporting all school events and was the public address announcer for many sporting events. He was a member of the Henderson County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his grandchildren- Randy Pulse of Chadwick, MO, Michael Pulse of Biggsville, IL, Peggy Moore of Stronghurst, Annjeanette Colligan of Phoenix, AZ, Debra Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, one daughter- Barbara Dennis, one grandson- Danny Pulse, one great grandson- Bobby Moore, and two brothers- James Lauver and Francis DaleAbe Lauver.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral service for Mr. Lauver will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 10, 2013 at Banks & Beals. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Condolences may be left at banksandbeals.com.
