Robert E. Bob Crum, 88, of Rural Dallas City, IL,passed away at 3:20 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Great River Hospice in West Burlington, Iowa.

Bob was born May 31, 1923 near Disco, Illinois in Hancock County to Gene and Jim Crum. On April 28, 1962 he married Carole Ann Clark in Stronghurst, IL. They continued to live in the house where he was born for the fifty years of their marriage.

Bob attended Monmouth College, The University of Illinois, and then was drafted into the U.S. Army. When he was discharged, Bob returned to farm and care for his father.
Bob enjoyed traveling. He and Carole traveled a large part of the world, including seven continents. Bob also enjoyed nature in any form from flowers , plants, to any animal. He was especially proud of his Belted Galloway Cattle. Bob always had a dog or two, or three, even eight at one time.

Bob was a favorite with his 26 nephews and nieces. He took them on scary car or truck rides and always crossed a troll bridge on their way for ice cream, candy and pop. In fact, when he visited one niece in Kindergarten, she wanted to take him to school for show and tell.

Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Mary Crum and brothers Andrew, John and Paul. He is survived by his wife, Carole, sister Catherine Larson and her husband Hubert of Galva, IL, Virginia Lawhorn of Rock Island, IL, brother Bill and wife Eleanor of Asheville, NC, sister-in-law, Marilyn (Paul) Crum of Lacrosse, FL, and cousins, Karen McHugh of Jefferson City, MO, and Victor Anderson of Midway, GA.

Carole and Bobs family would like to thank his faithful friends who have continued to visit him the past few years. Also, thank you to the friendly groups of Ft. Madison Dialysis Center.

Private Graveside services will be held at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Mark Nichols officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials my be made to the charity of the donors choice. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is in charge of the arrangements.
