Robert Dean Cortelyou, 73, of Urbana, IL, formerly of LaHarpe, IL passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at his home.

He was born June 1, 1941 in LaHarpe the son of Doren S. And Florence Brandt Cortelyou. On January 11, 1970 he married Mary Topash. They later divorced.

Robert was raised in LaHarpe and was a 1959 graduate LaHarpe High School. He the owner-operator for over 40 years of the All-Brite Window Cleaning in Urbana. Mr. Cortelyou was an avid Illini sprorts fan, a history buff and always enjoyed maintaining his close ties with friends and family from the LaHarpe area.

Survivors include, two sons, Jon Cortelyou of San Francisco, CA and Aaron (Rachel Snyder) Cortelyou Seattle, WA, his mother, Florence Cortelyou of LaHarpe, one brother, Larry (Terri) Cortelyou of LaHarpe and one nephew, Shawn Cortelyou of LaPorte, Indiana.
Mr. Cortelyou was preceded in death by his father, Doren and one brother, Roger.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Pastor Shawn Cortelyou officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Sunday, December 21st from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the scholarship fund at the University of Illinois.
