Robert Lee Avery, age 68, of Stronghurst, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.  He was born December 30, 1956 in Burlington, the son of Frank and Janet Marshall Avery.  On September 25, 1980, he married Judy Mickey in Stronghurst.

Robert was employed at Midwest Biscuit in West Burlington for thirty five years.  Earlier, he worked for Davison Motor Sales in Stronghurst and Lehigh Leopold in Burlington, until it closed.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing yards, going to auctions, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, one daughter, Renee Avery (Clinton Waddell), of Burlington, IA, one son Robert Lee Avery II (Tasha Bundy) of Stronghurst, four, grandchildren, Gavin, Silas, and Lexis Waddell, and Reese Avery, one sister, Donna (Mike) Pindell of Stronghurst, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Daniel Avery.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Banks & Beals.  A memorial has been established for his grandchildren's education.  Please visit Robert's obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
