Rita Ann (Savage) Pizanowski, 65, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Rita was born October 14, 1957 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Jeanette (West) Savage. On July 7, 1990 she married Bryan Pizanowski in Herrin, Illinois.

Rita was raised and educated in LaHarpe and later lived in Blandinsville, Illinois. She attended Spoon River College in Macomb, Illinois, for Computer Programming. While attending college she worked for a short time at Hardees in Macomb. She later worked for the Basket Factory in Burlington and lastly worked as an Auditor for Holiday Inn in Macomb.

When her health allowed she enjoyed going to church, fishing, camping, bowling, playing World of Warcraft, and reading, especially reading Harry Potter. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Her rescue dog, Ladybug, was the apple of her eye.

She was preceded in death by her father: Robert, one brother: Ricky Savage and one half brother: Coy Abernathy.

Rita is survived by her loving husband: Bryan; one son: John Barnes of Carthage; one daughter: Maria (Nicholas) Pizanowski-Larson of LaHarpe; three loving grandsons: Kutter and Konner Barnes and Zachary "Zach" Larson; one loving granddaughter: Izabella "Izy" Larson; her mother: Jeanette Abernathy of LaHarpe; one brother: Ronald (Shelly) Savage of Braunfels, Texas; 17 nieces and nephews a special niece Chyanna Abernathy of Burnside, Illinois; her mother-in-law: Susan "Sue" Bailey of Herrin; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the LaHarpe Cemetery(North of the mausoleum).  A time of food and fellowship will follow at the LaHarpe Christian Church at 2:00 p.m.
