Mr. Richard L. Anders, 70, of Terre Haute, IL, passed away at 10:40 AM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Monroe County Hospital, Albia, IA.

Dick was born March 14, 1948 in LaHarpe, IL, the son of Ellis and Irene Johnson Anders. On August 20, 1970 he married Shirley Marie Stewart in Oquawka, IL.

Mr. Anders was a 1966 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dick worked for BNSF for the past 44 years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, mother, Irene Renshaw of Terre Haute, IL, two daughters, Ashli Williams of Sigourney, IA and Laci Anders of LaHarpe, six granddaughters, Jaela, Rane, Kyla, Clara, Ava and Dehlia, four sisters, Karen (Wayne) Swisher of Lomax, Maude (Harold) Ravenscraft of Lomax, Beverly Worley of Lomax and Beth Ann (Jimmy) Vogel of O'Fallon, MO and one brother, David (Loretta) Anders of Kirkwood, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Anders and step-father, Dale Renshaw.

A graveside service with Military Rites will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Terre Haute Cemetery, Terre Haute, IL, with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the Terre Haute United Methodist Church Building Fund.
