Relly Allen Fowler

, 88 of rural Niota, Illinois died at 7:00 p.m. Thursday July 4, 2013 at Oakwood Estates in Stronghurst. He was born July 11,1924, the son of William and Gracia Allen Fowler. On October 4, 1947, he married Lois Lionberger in Colusa, Illinois.

Mr. Fowler was an army veteran of World War II. He farmed in the Colusa area for many years and served as Pontoosuc Township trustee and assessor. He was inducted into the American North Country Cheviot Sheep Association Hall Of Fame. After retiring from crop farming, he enjoyed raising miniature horses.

Survivors include his wife Lois, two daughters- Carol (Richard) Leenerts of Blandinsville, IL., Janice (Robert) Daugherty of Dallas City, IL., two sons- William (Barb) Fowler of Dallas City, David (Christel) Fowler of Aledo, IL., nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one sister- Joan Farris of Galesburg, IL., and four brothers- Ralph (Polly) Fowler of Macomb, IL., Ray Fowler of Texas, Keith (Georgeanna) Fowler of LaHarpe, IL., and Karl (Faye) Fowler of New London, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters- Mary Lou Renshaw and Ruth Jordan.

The funeral for Mr. Fowler will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday July 7, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois with Rev. David Poland officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday At the Funeral Home.
