Randy Lee Stewart, 70, of La Harpe, Illinois, passed away at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at VA Central Iowa in Des Moines, Iowa.

Born June 18, 1953, in Peoria, IL, he was the son of Donald Lee and Florence Jesse (Wayland) Stewart. On September 28, 1985 he married Debra Sue Heuer. They later divorced, but they remained great friends.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at General Electric in West Burlington, IA for 35 years, retiring in 2009.

Randy was an avid Illini, Chicago Bears, and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed riding Harleys, watching old westerns, driving around looking for deer, and video chatting his grandson, Lucas. He loved his dog, Miles.

He is survived by three children, Deidra (Zach) Fordyce, Adam Stewart, and Kellie (Curt) West; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Anders, Betty (Ivan) Nichols, Donna (Dave) Mershon, and Mary Lou Stewart; one brother, Donnie Stewart; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kimberly Stewart; brother Terry Stewart; and brother-in-law, Dick Anders.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.

The funeral service for Mr. Stewart will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the funeral home, with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. Burial with Military Rites presented by the LaHarpe American Legion will follow in LaHarpe Cemetery.
