Raleigh L. Parrish, age 91, of West Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away at 4:03 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. He was born September 28, 1930 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Bernice Terrell Parrish. On June 2, 1956, he married Betty Ann Richmond in Oquawka, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2016.

Raleigh was a 1949 graduate of Stronghurst High School. Earlier in life he worked for Sante Fe Railroad, Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant, Burlington Foundry, and Campbell Chain Company. Later, he worked for General Electric Company, where he retired in 1990, after 25 years of employment. In younger years, he enjoyed golfing and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Oquawka United Methodist Church. For the past five and a half years, Raleigh has resided at the Klein Center in West Burlington. The family would like to thank them for the wonderful care he has received.

Survivors include one daughter: Linda (Mike) Churchill of Effingham, IL, and one son: Mark (Carol) Parrish of Carman, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister: Beverly Boykin.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A graveside committal service for the family will be held in Carman Cemetery at a later date.
