R. Kent Poulter IIR. Kent Poulter II, 50, of rural Good Hope, IL passed away at 11:44 AM Sunday, January 24, 2016 near Good Hope. He was born on March 8, 1965 in Fort Madison, IA, the son of Russell Kent and Rose Ellen Foglesong Poulter. On December 10, 1994 he married Ellen J. Ewen in Monmouth, IL.
Kent was a 1983 graduate of the former Northwestern High School. In high school he was active in the FFA. He began farming shortly after school, and did so for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed farming and especially loved his cattle.
Mr. Poulter was a Walnut Grove Township trustee. He was a member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church. Kent enjoyed antiques, hunting, and traveling. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching football.
Kent is survived by his wife, Ellen, one daughter Anderson Poulter, at home, his mother, Rose Ellen Poulter, of Blandinsville, IL, one sister Kristal Renee (Rob) Murphy of Holt Summit, MO, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Good Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Delbert Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the church from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday. A memorial fund has been established for the Good Hope United Methodist Church and the West Prairie High School FFA.
