Mrs. Roxanna Petty, 65, of Dallas City, IL, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

She was on February 11, 1950 the daughter of William G. And Martha Bice Rea. On April 19, 1974 she married James Russell Petty in Dallas City. He preceded he in death on September 18, 2002.

Roxanna was a 1968 graduate of Nauvoo-Colusa High School. She worked as a waitress at Chic-A-Dees and the Moose Lodge in Wilmington, IL. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City. Roxanna loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Leo W. (Sherry) Olson of Maywood, MO, Dustin R. Petty of Dallas City, IL and Heath R. (Katherine) Petty of Wilmington, IL, one daughter, Summer (John) Cox of Wilmington, IL, eleven grandchildren, two brothers, Rick Rea of Niota, IL and Roger Rea of Virginia, three sisters, Rhonda Chamlee of Jonesboro, AR, Rita Renshaw of Burlington, IA and Becky Rettig of Iowa City.

Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, James Russell Petty Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. No formal services are planned. Burial will be held at a later date in Harris Cemetery, Dallas City.
