Obituary

Patricia Ann Rodeffer, 77, of rural Dallas City, Illinois passed away at 1:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois.

Pat was born on December 30, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Charles T. and Grace Mae Denson Johnson. On August 11, 1967 she married John H. Rodeffer in Bloomington, Illinois. He survives.

Mrs. Rodeffer was a 1960 graduate of Clinton Community High School, Clinton, Illinois. Following high school she received her Bachelors Degree from the Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Pat taught Special Education at Enos Elementary School in Springfield, Scofield School in Carthage and Remedial Reading at the Ferris Grade School in Ferris, Illinois. Pat was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, American Association of University Women, Girl Scouts where she served on the staff of the 50 th Anniversary of Girl Scouting. She was also a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church, serving as head of the Nursery Department for 25 years. She loved to sing in the church choir, embroidery and quilting with the ladies of the Ladies Aide of the Ferris Christian Church. She was addicted to Jigsaw Puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, John, three children, Clark (Amanda) Rodeffer, Lynn (Caryn) Rodeffer and Anna Rodeffer, five grandchildren, E'lanor, Derek, Lily, Silas and Zoey, and one brother, Ray Lynn Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles "Dick" Johnson.

The funeral service for Mrs. Rodeffer will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery with Jordan Knight officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 Saturday at Banks & Beals. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church (to send kids to church camp), Illinois Cancer Society or Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab.
