Mr. Oscar E. Strasser, 93, of LaHarpe, IL, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home.

He was born December 16, 1919 in Hastings, PA, the son of Jacob Isaac and Irene Yeager Strasser. On November 15, 1975 he married Frances F. Briggs in Blandinsville, IL. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2003.

Mr Strasser served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had worked in the coal mines in Pennsylvania earlier in life and later worked at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.

He is survived by one sister, Kate Short of Patton, PA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, 5 siblings and his parents.

Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2013 with Larry Hobby officiating. There will be no visitation. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is in charge of arrangements.
