Mrs. Normalee Young, 91, of Pontoosuc, Illinois went home to be with the Lord at 9:06 a.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024 at her home.

She was born July 11, 1933 in Pontoosuc, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur "Bud" and Laura Odessa Townsend Seigfried. On August 8, 1952 she married Doren L. Young in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2010.

Normalee was a graduate of Dallas City High School. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Pontoosuc Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her flowers and working in her garden and loved all animals, especially her cats and dogs.

She is survived by one daughter, Leona Young of Pontoosuc, one nephew, Tim Seigfried of West Point, Iowa and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Roy and Elliott Young, one brother, James Seigfried, one great-grandson, Kairyn Young and her parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Myers Cemetery near Pontoosuc. A memorial fund has been established to help with expenses.
